WHAT YOU WILL DO: The In-Home Family Therapist position is for our Family Skill Builders program in Broward County.
The Therapist will be responsible for providing intensive home based individual and family counseling, as well as linkage to formal (community providers) and informal (family, friends, neighbors, church, school, etc.
) resources to clients involved with Broward Sheriff’s Office and ChildNet to ensure child safety needs are met in conjunction with provision of family strengthening interventions.
Conduct home based counseling sessions and telehealth services with parents, caretakers, at-risk children, their families, and extended support networks.
Provide information, referral and follow-up for appropriate ancillary community counseling, psychiatric services, financial, employment, parenting, housing, and other services as deemed appropriate to meet family needs.
Keep accurate records of all activities, including the documentation of all phone calls and linkage with community support, as well as home visits and telehealth sessions.
Create a Comprehensive Family Needs Assessment with the family (and formal and informal supports when these extended supports are available) to address the issues, which have brought the family to the Broward Sheriff’s Office attention, and which have contributed to the family’s need for intervention from the program.
Create a supporting Treatment Plan, which lays out the specific goals, interventions, and parties responsible for the process to attain the necessary means for the identified needs to be met.
Monitor progress as it pertains to the Treatment Plan written as a collaborative document with the child, their parents, caregivers, the referral source, as well as formal and informal support that are brought into the treatment process.
Conduct family team conferences/meetings on cases prior to discharge to ensure wrap around services are in place prior to case closure.
Create an advocacy relationship with the client in order that their needs are met by other systems, which they are involved with to include but not to be limited to, the child welfare system, the school system, the economic self-sufficiency system, employment and housing systems.
Maintain client records that are timely and include detailed, quality information, as well as meet performance standards as outlined by Children’s Services Council Contract and Gulf Coast JFCS policy and procedure.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date Authorization for Release of Confidential Information forms to assure client confidentiality (one form per source agency to communicate with).
Must insure concise and timely completion of all documentation, turned in weekly, including, but not limited to, administrative, clinical or caseload requirements.
Documentation is due in the office every week by the following Monday.
Counselors to meet contractual requirements of an average of two home visits per week or telehealth sessions, per family, per seven days, unless waived by Program Director.
To ensure all outcome measurements are satisfied per the contract requirements.
Attend weekly supervision with Program Director on 100% of cases each week.
To participate in monthly staff meetings and peer audits with Program Director and staff.
To support the development of Graduate Level Interns and their University requirements to increase program services to clients.

WHAT YOU NEED: Master’s degree in counseling or human services field and at least two (2) years of experience providing direct services to children, youth, or their families required.
Must have excellent communication, writing, computer and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred.
Must have a valid drivers' license and current auto insurance coverage.
