Plans, directs, supervises, and coordinates work activities of subordinates and staff, including hiring, coaching, evaluating, and terminating.
2.
Develops prospects from current students, faculty, referral leads, conferences, educational fairs, career days, campus tours, or special events.
3.
Contacts prospective students to present information and/or explain available programs and services.
Communicates with prospects about admission requirements, program offerings, curriculum, and/or basic financial aid information by various means of communication.
4.
Determines students' educational needs and prepares proposals to provide services that address these needs.
5.
Handles and processes inquiries timely and accurately.
6.
Provides assistance in completing application and enrollment documents.
7.
Provides outreach to applicants throughout their journey in the funnel up through point of enrollment and working with key staff in transitioning the applicant to a newly enrolled student.
8.
Conducts a preliminary review of applicant files including evaluation of transcripts, grades, curriculum and quality of schools, letters of recommendation, essay, extracurricular activities, and any other information pertinent to the application; transfers file to designated admission committee or reviewer and updates information in the University student database.
9.
Rejects applicants that do not meet minimum program requirements.
10.
Schedules and participates in student interviews.
11.
Provides guidance to faculty interview teams regarding the evaluation process and legal guidelines to ensure that interviews are conducted in compliance with non-discrimination regulations.
12.
Manages yield strategies for prospects and applicants.
Collaborates with admissions colleagues, academic advisers, and financial aid officers, to ensure a smooth transition from inquiry to enrolled student status.
13.
Develops and maintains a network of relationships that will serve to increase enrollment, such as alumni, students, business community, government agencies, healthcare facilities, professional organizations, student groups, and colleges and universities.
14.
Maintains knowledge of program requirements, course requirements and sequencing, and establishes and maintains relationships with program faculty.
15.
Promotes the university by participating in community, state, and national events or meetings, and by developing partnerships with industry and secondary education institutions.
16.
Makes presentations on programs and admissions to groups to attract new students.
17.
Coordinates or participates in promotional activities, including conferences, educational fairs, career days, campus tours, or special events to present programs to prospective students.
18.
Serves in a public relations capacity at professional, civic, and business functions.
19.
Identifies, develops, or evaluates communication strategies, based on knowledge of university objectives, market characteristics, and cost factors.
20.
Uses forecasting or strategic planning methods to ensure enrollment in programs, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends.
21.
Formulates, directs, or coordinates public relations and marketing communications activities or policies to promote university programs, working with other experts or stakeholders as needed.
22.
Initiates market research studies or analyzes their findings.
23.
Researches, develops, and implements recruiting strategies for specific market segments.
24.
Identifies quality metrics to determine effectiveness and productivity of work to meet enrollment goals; identifies opportunities for growth and ability to outline a plan of action.
25.
Identifies main client groups and audiences, determines the best way to communicate and engage audiences to elicit desired outcomes, and develops and implements a communication plan.
26.
Gathers data on competitors and analyzes their prices, enrollments, and method of marketing and distribution.
27.
Collects and analyzes data on student demographics, preferences, needs, and buying habits to identify potential markets and factors affecting service demand.
28.
Devises and evaluates methods and procedures for collecting data, such as surveys, opinion polls, or questionnaires, or arranges to obtain existing data.
29.
Monitors industry statistics and follows trends in trade literature.
30.
Measures and assesses customer satisfaction.
31.
Measures the effectiveness of marketing, advertising, and communications programs and strategies.
32.
Maintains student data integrity and confidentiality.
33.
Serves as trainer and mentor for junior employees.
34.
Chairs one committee and serves on one or more other committees as assigned.

Serves as a liaison to various units including facilities, student affairs, alumni relations, and other operational and student services as necessary.

Bachelor’s degree and eight (8) or more years of experience in a higher education environment, -OR- Master’s and six (6) or more years of experience in a higher education environment.

Prior supervisory experience.
