Location: Coconut Creek
Works at the direction of center’s doctor(s) and office administrator and is responsible for various clerical, clinical and patient care duties.
Ensures both the highest level of patient care and that the center operates with utmost efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
Responsibilities
* *MUST DRAW BLOOD*
* Prepare patients for examination, take vitals, and record patients' health history
* Set-up EKG machines, administer injections and medications, and perform routine specimen collection and tests
* Prepare equipment and examination rooms, and clean instruments
* Assist physician with medical treatments, procedures, and exams
* Manage inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies
* Take medical history and record vital signs, explain treatment procedures to patients, prepare patients for examination.
* Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, check-in patients, obtain necessary patient information to file and update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients.
* Enter patient payments, Insurance eligibility and process referrals and medical/surgical coding.
* Assist in administrative functions as assigned by physician
* Qualifications
* Phlebotomy skills required.
* Minimum 5 years experience in Medical Assistant field required.
* Completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program preferred.
* Bilingual: English - Spanish a Plus.
* *EMR experience required.
Preferibly EcW.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Good verbal and written communication skills with patients and staff.
* Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
* Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
* Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times
* Managerial skills a plus, as well as ability to take charge and be a team player.
* Experience with ability to enter patient payments, Insurance eligibility and process referrals and medical/surgical coding.
