Our office is a prominent, well established general practice with a RAPID growing orthodontic department in the Coral Springs area.
We are looking for an *experienced*, caring and enthusiastic person to join our fast-paced team.
*Key Task*
The requirements listed below are representative, but not all inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
All tasks assigned are not limited to other dental assistant duties.
All team members will be cross trained to be able to flow together seamlessly throughout a work day.
* Performing orthodontic adjustments
* Preparing teeth for bonding and de-bonding
* Assisting in the placement and removal of appliances
* Sterilizing instruments and operatories
* Taking digital radiographs
* Taking alginate impressions
* Fixed retainer fabrication and cementation
* Bracket set-up/placement
* Charting of patient information
* Communication with patients regarding treatment and oral hygiene
* Encouraging, educating, and motivating patients to follow the recommendations of the Doctor
* Inventory control
* Managing a fast-paced patient schedule
* Must have a minimum of 3 years experience
* Position will be for Thursdays and Saturdays

- Assist the orthodontist in providing patient care and treatment during orthodontic procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Assist with patient assessment and medical documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software for creating orthodontic appliances
- Assist with medical coding and billing processes
- Collaborate with the orthodontist and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
Experience:
- Previous experience as an orthodontic assistant is preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry is a plus
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, such as Epic, is beneficial
