SUMMARY
Dispensary Coordinator (DC) is responsible for the daily operation of the center’s dispensary.
DC shall ensure dispensaries follow all local, state, and federal regulations, company policy/procedures, as well as ensuring all licensing required from any other entity for everyday operations is current.
Serves as medical center’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all pharmacy/medications related questions and as such, responds to all patient related inquiries.
Fills all prescriptions submitted by prescribers.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION
High School diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED, or equivalent is required.
Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
A minimum of two years' experience as a pharmacy technician, physician dispensary, or pharmacy care coordinator
Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Knowledge of pharmacy adjudication platforms
Patient relations experience, especially with an elderly population
Exceptional listening, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail in prescription processing and record-keeping
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and prioritization abilities
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Valid Registered Pharmacy Technician license in Florida

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains inventory levels within budget.
Prepares all patient Vacation Supplies, Lost Medications and Prior Authorizations requests for prescriber approval.
Reviews pharmacy reports, identifies patients which have opportunities for BRAND to alternative BRAND conversion, duplication of therapy issues and high-cost medications opportunities.
Ensures prescribers are maximizing HMO’s formularies.
Submit all patient OTC orders as requested.
Processes all Durable Medical Equipment (DME) orders.
Resolves any patient related grievances and provides root cause analysis (RCA) to Dispensary Supervisor (DS).
